Restorative yoga is a series of static, supported postures using bolsters, pillows, blocks, blankets, belts...whatever it takes to allow the student to rest comfortably in the posture for an extended period of time so that full relaxation can occur. Christine is very attentive to the needs of the class and makes certain that students are fully supported in each posture. She makes individual adjustments based on the needs of participants. As we rest in each posture, she provides everyone with a mini-massage (i.e. she may work the lower back as we rest in supported child's pose, or massage the hands in supine twist, shoulders in savasana, etc.). In a 1-1/2 hour session, we probably hold only 5-6 postures as each one takes some demonstration and prop setup before we rest and move onto the next pose. It's an experience not to be missed and you will float out of the studio at the end of the session.
All levels welcome. No prior yoga experience required.
Cost: $25 - make checks payable to Christine Bostic
