Restorative yoga is a series of static, supported postures using bolsters, pillows, blocks, blankets, belts...whatever it takes to allow the student to rest comfortably in the posture for an extended period of time so that full relaxation can occur. Christine is very attentive to the needs of the class and makes certain that students are fully supported in each posture. She makes individual adjustments based on the needs of participants. As we rest in each posture, she then walks throughout the room and provides everyone with a mini-massage (i.e. she may work the lower back as we rest in supported child's pose, or massage the hands in supine twist, shoulders in savasana... these are only examples, not specifics). In a 1-1/2 hour session, we probably hold only 5-6 postures as each one takes some demonstration and prop setup before we rest and move onto the next pose. It's an experience not to be missed and you will float out of the studio at the end of the session.

YOGA R&R with Barb GermershausenRelax & Rejuvenate in a 2-hour guided yoga & meditation session. Students will enjoy gentle yoga, basic breathing techniques & beginner meditation practices in a quiet setting. The goal of this practice is to rejuvenate the body while relaxing the mind. All levels welcome. No previous yoga or meditation experience required. Cost: $25 - make checks payable to Barb Germershausen
